About this opportunity
Estate Operations: Overseeing daily field operations, including crop cultivation, harvesting/plucking, weeding, pruning, and replanting schedules.
Factory Management: Monitoring manufacturing processes (e.g., with tea or rubber factories) to ensure high-quality output, machinery efficiency, and strict adherence to safety standards.
Labor & Human Resource Management: Managing estate workers, addressing welfare, housing, and industrial relations, and maintaining productivity targets.
Administration & Compliance: Maintaining meticulous records of field yields, labor allocation, payroll inputs, and compliance with environmental and labor regulations.
Sustainability & Innovation: Implementing modern agricultural practices, digital monitoring tools, and sustainable crop diversification (such as coffee, spices, or forestry).
What we’re looking for
Possesses a qulification in the manufacturing from the National Institute of Plantation Management or a relevant institute.
Possesses a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar capacity in the plantation sector.
Storage understanding of replanting and related agricultural practices
Fair Knowledge of Orthodox rotorvane manufacturing.
Fluency in the three main languages(Sinhala,Englis&Tamil)and/or possessing a NIPM qualification in language proficiency would be an added advantage.
Any other job-related professional qualification will be a definite advantage.
Exposure to the implementation of Certifications such as ISO 22000,HACCP,and Rainforest Fairtrade
